Alison Beck is a vocalist, pianist, and penny whistle player specialising in gospel, soul, jazz, and contemporary music. An experienced community musician, she has led over 50 singing workshops and worked with diverse groups, using music to build confidence, connection, and participation. Alison brings warmth, creativity, and encouragement to every performance.

As a vocalist, Alison’s repertoire spans uplifting gospel and soul music through to jazz standards and contemporary songs. She also plays penny whistle and piano, with a particular strength in using piano accompaniment to support singers and groups across a variety of styles.
A passionate advocate for music-making as a way of bringing people together, Alison has led more than 50 gospel singing workshops with community groups, choirs and church groups. Her workshops introduce participants of all backgrounds to the joy, energy and shared experience of gospel music, while drawing on techniques that can be adapted to other genres including pop and jazz.
Alison’s community music experience includes working with adults, young people and diverse community groups. She has delivered music workshops in primary schools through Spitalfields Music and co-led a “write a musical in a week” programme with teenagers in County Durham. She has also volunteered as a musician with a range of communities, including seven years as a piano accompanist with the Choir with No Name, working with people affected by homelessness, as well as projects with ex-prisoners through Only Connect Theatre and with cancer patients through a community choir at Maggie’s Centre in West London.
